In class, we have been delivering our speeches and mine is about trying to persuade people that women and men should get the same pay. I Iiked writing my speech out and I learnt that there is a 81.8% pay gap between men and women's pay.
Men should get paid more than women.
In many industries around the world, men and women perform the same jobs yet they do not get the same payment. Why is this do you think? For too long the attitudes, beliefs and behaviour of people affect the way men and women are paid differently. While the pay gap is getting closer, women are still being treated unfairly. The gender pay gap is a high indicator of the difference between men and women. The pay rise is huge, there is an 81.8% gap in pay between men and women. The causes of the gender pay are complex. In the past, a substantial proportion of the gender pay gap was due to factors such as differences in education.
These attitudes affect not only the choices men and women make around paid and unpaid work. Differences in behaviours and choices can include men and women willing to discuss and aimed to reach an agreement paying conditions. But also the behaviours of others toward men and women who make choices that are not acting or done in the same way over time with these traditional beliefs.
Women and men have different patterns of taking action in the paid workforce for the most part because women spend a greater part of their time on unpaid and caring work than men. When women work part-time they are more likely to miss out on more challenging work and professional development opportunities both of which increase a person’s chances of advancement.
So women work just as hard as men which means they should get paid as much as men. So there should be no differences between men and women's pay.
Good speech. I like all your information and I like how you have added some rhetorical questions.
